Over the past few years and especially the latest six months, I have been surprised and saddened by the tension and political/ideological division in our town, state and country. The hatefulness and meanness has been so shocking, I can hardly believe this is my loving chosen hometown of Ketchikan.
Through this turmoil, I have witnessed Dan Ortiz navigating both/all sides of the issues with thoughtfulness and consideration to mediate tensions. Dan has done the same — working with both parties our our benefit and the benefit of all Alaska in Juneau. Dan has answered every phone call I have made to his office. He has always found time to discuss issues and questions from me and everyone I know. Dan shows up for all of us.
I suggest we have Dan Ortiz continue to represent us in Juneau. Please vote for Dan in November. We all need him.
